Football Roundup: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Defensive Affair

During a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Dominant Performance Wins Game

Even with registering nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after conceding a safety in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets managed a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets still had possession with a chance to score a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

Fields had difficulties throughout, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with negative ten net yards passing, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," Glenn commented following the game.
